    The hotel is what you would expect from a Super 8, but the staff was Super nice, and extremely helpful. If you want somewhere inexpensive, this is a good choice.

    Day 2 of little vacationlette was bright and sunny, with no rain in the forecast that might interfere with our plan to go to the drive-in. Said drive-in is in Shelby, NC, about 40 miles from Hickory, so we set off in the morning for a leisurely transfer with a couple of stops en route.

    I have decided to get a T Shirt made that says, "Yes, we know you would love to come to Australia". Seriously, it is great to hear though and we tell them that they would feel very much at home. We have met some lovely people here. We often get the comment, Where about in Texas are you from? I always answer much further south. Much much further. It is one of the best things about travelling – meeting lots of people.

Shortly after I arrived Paul, the gentleman that I've met previous day and who looks after Steve's computer and generally helped out on the IT side, arrived. Paul is a guitarist and a good friend of Steve and extremely knowledgeable and an enthusiastic about rock music so we had plenty to talk about.
