We got to the Savannah area on Friday and spent Saturday and Sunday touring the area. We took the Old Town Trolley around Savannah on Saturday and then drove to Tybee Island for lunch. On the way back we stopped at Fort Pulaski which was built to guard the opening of the Savannah River during the Civil War. It fell during the first battle it was in. On Sunday ...

Bridie was kind enough to lend me her laptop and help me to get my bearings when I got ...

Today was a carpool day. Weather was warm & humid, but the closer to the river & ocean we got the cooler we got. Our first stop was Fort Pulaski. A Park Ranger met us and gave a little welcome talk. Then, we went into the Visitors Center for a film about the Fort. After the film, we went out the Fort. This Fort was built by the Union Army in the early 1800's. It is on an island in the middle of the Savannah River. It ...
