... Ignition - a clothing store owned by Tiffany that I had heard all about so was excited to visit! Mary was working when we got there...it's a real cute store that I could have bought so much in! I did find one top in the sale rack that i really liked so thought it would be cool to have something from there.

Next stop was the Hollywood sign...as we were having a few days break from extreme hikes we decided to drive up to ...

... about 1996 since we'd seen them I think! We spent the morning talking and catching up and also meeting their pets. They have 2 dogs and 2 kittens so of course, we fell in love with them pretty quickly!

Their daughter, Tiffany and her husband, James were on vacation so his parents were staying at their house and looking after their 3 kids. We headed over to meet them and the kids which was only a few minutes drive away.

After a lazy start we went to brunch at "Eggs n Things" near Gino's house and Will got (another) haircut. Wandered through Walmart to pick up some stuff to take to Nick and Megan's house where we are having "thanksgiving" dinner in August instead of November. They have done a lot of work to their house and are in the process of ...

... has been quite an experience. Of course it's not for the faint hearted either. Now I know how our poor country folk feel when they drive into Auckland. Everything is whizzing by at 100 mile an hour ... which in the case of this place, is actually how fast they drive!! Well, let's put it this way, we - or rather, I - was driving at 120km/h (around 75mph) and we were struggling to keep up with those ahead of us. And people were right up my bum ...

        California here I come.

... Redondo Beach, spotted dolphins in the bay as we walked to the pier for lunch. Fascinating watching the pelicans skimming over the water. Mark's family, Alex and Ashley joined us for a wonderful meal at a Japanese Tepanyaki restaurant that evening. Its a real delight watching the chefs prepare the food at the table.

        Leave tomorrow for San Franscisco.
