The service was excellent. Room very clean. Allowed us to leave our motorcycles in front of the reception area. Pool good hot tub not working at the moment. Continental breakfast was excellent. Would stay there again.

... binges and most famously for the episode where we meet Wendy the crack***** and the Hospital where Jesse and Walter spend time both when the cousins were treated after the attempt on Hanks life. Took the kiddos up to see virgin snow at Sandia Crest - 10,650-ft. It was truly a highlight of our trip. Snowball fights, snow angels and 28-degree weather made for a great afternoon. Arrived in Roswell, New Mexico at dusk. Little green aliens abound all over this ...

... the folks at the KOA campgrounds have all been super friendly and cheerful. I think some of these places are franchises so they have to make sure the campers are happy. On the road in Colorado!

Now, Colorado seems to have quite the American Indian population and several reservations. They also have some odd landscape though. I had to stop and check out these huge ruts in the ground next to the highway. They form during flash floods and that's ...

... stores near by. I finally found some new "tennis" shoes! I've been looking for a new pair for over 4 months. Then we went to WalMart to pick up something we'd been wanting, and thus the picture that accompanies this entry.

Tomorrow, we drive further south to Carlsbad Caverns, and afterwards we continue eastward on I-20 into Texas.

... the world. Officially its also the dairy capital of the South west - or so the entry sign to town states, but it is aliens what most people know Roswell for.

We found, by mistake really, the Bottomless Lakes SP which are just 12 miles out of Roswell. We liked it so much we pulled in for two nights.

From there we headed south to Texas.

NM 285 out of Santa Fe runs across a high plateau where you seem to lose the last of the Rockies as the Sangre de Cristos dwindle down to nubs. The barbed wire and snow fences parallel the highway and you know you are far, far from anywhere when there are no longer any telephone poles. We quickly run out of juniper and sage and are now looking at just grass and cholla. The morning is cold and the cholla is frosted. This is the same cholla that forced ...
