      When we arrived in North Platte yesterday, our trip mileage was 1963 miles @ an average of 45 mpg for fuel. Today we added another 400+ miles including a marvelous diversion over the Snowy Range Scenic Byway through some of the Medicine Bow Mtns. Highlights:

      ** Upon entering Wyoming, the highway speed limit went right up to 80 mph -- but every so often the signs would say, "Construction ahead. REDUCE SPEED. 75 mph."

      Although my goal is to travel without deadlines, I needed to make tracks across Nebraska and Wyoming to have dinner with my brother Richard. It was so cool that I didn't use air conditioning until halfway across WY. The wind, on the other hand, was a force to be dealt with.       ... from the mess, did suggest that they probably should put up a warning sign pertaining to the cavernous dip in the road. Hm, WE AGREE. Judging by the number of deep gouges, I bet there are dozens of other rv'ers who would support some warning signage.       Today is a long drive day. We started with a shared favorite - Cracker Barrel for a good breakfast. The Dickinson family introduced to Cracker Barrel on our first visit to Nashville and we have enjoyed its consistency on many of our road trips.
