We didn't drive too far today!

Calgary to Olds, AB is 94 km.

Stopped in Olds to have lunch with my school bestie, Faye Wallace. We had a wonderful afternoon together, with lots of giggles. 50 years of friendship, dating back to grades 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in Hanna, Alberta.

Late in the afternoon, we drove to Red Deer, AB, a distance of 58 km.

... of places to go. Why, you might ask? Because of the world's largest tee of course. When I first read the literature I told Denis we were going to see the world's largest tree. He said that didn't seem right in this part of the world. I put my glasses on and realized my error -- the word was tee not tree.

I originally thought I would've like to try again to get to Rowley but my heart wasn't in it anymore and so we just headed direct to Red Deer. ...

At least we were all together..

... supervisor, but when I take his age into account, and his lack of experience, he really is doing a good job. Sometimes I worry that he is working too hard and I want to tell him to take a break, but David is not the kind of person who takes orders from other people.David is amazing in a crisis, always remaining calm and figuring out what to do. He gives amazing advice, I feel like I can talk to him about anything and because he is the same age as me, it doesn't feel like talking ...

... us yet so we have been staying with a temp host family and we are moving today. Its very sad for me because I love the family I've been with soooo very much and I don't want to leave them, they want us to stay too but Eva said no :( I am sure that our real host family will be wonderful too, but I just hate goodbyes. We have also been living with Guido this past week and we have gotten quite close so its sad to be losing a part of my little ...

... place right in the mall. Afterwards we're back on the road with Red Deer only an hour away and the day of travelling almost through. Arriving in Red Deer our first stop is the car wash; because Diego is in much need of a bath, as were we. With the Mazda looking shiny and new we pull into the aunts driveway tired and a little sore, but excited all the same. Greeted by smiles and hugs at the door we make our way to the back deck and spend the later part ...
