... 5 to 6 plus 10 $30 waterpark tickets (5 for each park). Crazy. Don't ask me how that adds up. Noah's Ark is a great place. Clean and FUN. Burt the Conquerer filmed there when he rode the Scorpian. Paul rode it too. You get in a tube, stand there for a count down and the bottom drops out. Craaazy! See video of the ride. http://youtu.be/KvXN9KzIAE8 We all rode the Anaconda. It is the longest "Water Coaster" anywhere? in ...

We stayed at a KOA near the water park Wednesday. I got up around 8:30 to do laundry. We headed to the water park around 11:00 and stayed until about 4:00. We stopped to get some cheese curds of course since we are in Wisconsin. Planning to make it past Chicago for the night then finish the drive on down to Indiana Friday and hopefully be home by evening. It has been a great family trip. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed for one ...

Day 23: 4038 miles

Monday, June 23

With Harry and his friends for company, I headed off across Iowa toward Wisconsin. The thing that has most struck me about this part of the country -- besides the general dearth of people -- are the clouds.

I've never seen clouds quite like these: first there are the small, niblet clouds that form just above the distant horizon (top). These are soon quickly followed by larger, taller, clouds (center). Then, in what ...

Night 1: Breaking the Bubble

A travel blog entry by splencner on Jun 23, 2014

Night 1: Breaking the Bubble Montello Twp., WI Today we drove 180 miles from Chicago to Montello Twp., WI. The night driving saw touch and go thunderstorms and light rain. It is muggy, 76 degrees, and clearing out. I can see all the stars and galaxies here. We are sleeping at cousin Steve's cottage on the shore of Buffalo Lake, a wide part of the Fox River. I have not gotten a good view of the lake, which ...
