We stayed in a little town called O'Fallon last night and woke up to a clear day. Started off at 40 F but got colder as we drove. The further we drove the more snow we encountered but roads were good.leaving Illinois we touched in Missouri, Kentucky,Tennessee and into Georgia....not a lot to see on the freeways but trees,trees and more trees. Dropped to 28 ...

Left hotel Mt Vernon Il at 745! Good nitr sleep. Brrr temp 37! Try to get home?? We r 1 hr from st louis (600 mi to home from there). Driving thru IL AND IA! At 315PM turned onto 35 notth! Sign said Mpls 182 miles! Yipee!! Ipod says home appx 700pm! Thatd like 12 hr day ( but we habe ot stopped to eat-just snacks in truck) grrrr! OOPS 11/28/14 got a speed ticket in mail from this day thru Iowa! ...

... The whole process was inefficient and annoying. Of course, it was a Saturday. If we were to do it again, it would have to be a weekday.
Getting out of St. Louis was a real pain as well. A professional soccer game had just ended and the Chicago cubs were in town to play the cardinals. The rv made it that much more difficult, but we did it!!! On our way to Indianapolis ...

... up in a Prius. He asks what we're trying to find and, being a mature biker himself, realizes that we're wanting to avoid shoulderless roads and heavy traffic. He tries to explain a way and failing that, he gets out of his car and makes us a map. His map gets us to the Madison County Trail and then to Troy. After that, "...all bets are off."
