      ... is a history museum that is a memorial to all of the pioneers that crossed the country to settle the west. The building is in the shape of a large arch that spans the interstate highway, giving it a distinctive shape. We are spending the night at the “Kearney RV Park & Campground”. Nebraska is primarily a farming state, so the drive has been somewhat uninteresting.

      ... 35 on the interstate, and we actually pulled off in a rest area for a few minutes until the rain and wind let up. There were some nasty clouds too....we were looking for a funnel cloud but never saw one.

      The rest of the drive was great....a little gusty but very flat. And, we are now in the mountain time zone.

      ... The used husks on the floor by your table. I gorged myself generously, and by the time my waitress brought my rubber chicken (this bird was so stringy we could have used it for tennis at David Lloyd) I was surprised she was able to get to the table over my mountain of discarded peanut shells. Still, it was great fun and I was not even inclined to comment on the pneumatic texture of my meal. Such are the doubtful culinary delights of The Lincoln Highway. Sad to report, I went away ...
