... Georgia. The site is a vivid reminder of the horrors of our Civil War 150 years ago. Originally called Camp Sumpter, it was unfinished when the first Union prisoners of war arrived in February of 1864. Intended to house 10,000 POW's, it soon had to be expanded from a 16 1/2 acre pen to over 26 acres. During the 14 months the prison existed, more than 45,000 Union soldiers were confined in the stockade. Of these, almost 13,000 died ...

And so, after the drive from Chattanooga, TN Ible and I made the short and traffic filled drive to Warner Robins, GA where we planned to stay with her parents for the next several weeks.
It has been a fun and relaxing time since we have arrived here. I have been learning many new things about this part of the country (mostly about food and how to prepare certain dishes. Ible's mother is a wonderful ...

Their leaves look somewhat like Maple leaves but their ...

... It was beautiful! We just left Waynesville NC where we spent some time with our friends Flagg and Carole. This area is just amazing. Everywhere you look you are surrounded by the beautiful Smoky Mountains. While there we visited the Biltmore Estate in Ashville and loved it. We are spending the night in Forsythe GA then on to White Springs Fl. We will be home either Tues or Wed after four great months on the road and lots of ...

Got off Monday after 12...heading for Columbus, OH 1003 miles away....and had to be there by Wednesday.

Drove just under 300 miles to Perry, GA. Found a stopover at Fair Harbor RV Park just off I75. Neat park all treed, cute little lake in the middle of it, great electric and cable. Just what we needed after getting in around 6 that evening.

      More driving ...
