We visited the cornpalace which unfortunately was being redone and continued through Sioux Falls and Sioux City to Nebraska where we found a nice little town called Decatur. ... Friday: Today was a travel day. We drove through the rest of New Mexico, northern Texas, and into Oklahoma. Yesterday the temp was in the 80s and most of today in the 40s! It is cloudy and drizzling off and on. Not much to see on this drive. We did see hundreds (Mike says thousands) of cattle in muddy pens with a sign that said Quality beef products. Didn't look like quality to us. Disgusting. We are staying in Elk City, Oklahoma tonight.

That's what happened millions of years ago and the skeletons of the animals it killed weren't discovered until the early 1970's. Here are amazing pix of these real fossils that we were able to get up close to. Read all about this site at: ...

... a gorgeous town along the Missouri River.

Out of Chamberlin, we took Hwy 50 north, offering great views of the river. After crossing the river at the Fort Thompson Dam, we then rode along the gorgeous Native American Scenic Byway
    towards Pierre.

The turn into the byway proved easy to miss, allowing us to "explore" some more back gravel roads. The gravel road turned to a dirt road, which then turned to a mud road thanks to ...
