... and then took the opportunity of the stop to wander around a few blocks of Denver. This was a re-fueling stop for the train and we had reversed into Denver Union Terminus to allow us to take time to look around. Then it was back on the train for a 7.10 departure.

Another day that started slowly. Girls slept in a bit, and then we were treated to a nice breakfast from Miriam. Afterwards it was straight to the mules and back out to Kenny's farm to play with cats. Kristine showed us her horses and talked about them, girls helped out the feeding of them and cats. Early morning start and passed through Flint Hills section just to see some hills. Then we visited Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka. Had to laugh at rainbow painted house right across the street. Made a stop at Target in Lawrence to buy pillows, then past KC and into Missouri. Beautiful drive through farmlands into Winterset. Unfortunately I couldn't download the maps I'd saved, and directions were rare so finding covered bridges was ...
... at R Campground alongside the river, nice spot. Went for dinner at Chinese buffet place but horrible not like the one in Huston. On way home sent for a little walk along side river. All nicely set up with walk/bike tracks and canoe race thingy on river.
