Leisurely morning today. Short walk to Munising falls through very pretty Beech and Maple forest. at one time the track went behind the falls but no longer as the limestone rock is eroding too quickly and the track is not safe.

Went to Miners Falls which are a little taller and also pretty. At the right time of the day, a rainbow would just top off the scene.

Walked 1.6 km (mostly downhill over tree roots) to Miners Beach. Paddled in the fresh water - not ...

We have 2 little houses near the waterfront. We can see across Lake Superior to Grand Island. We are sitting drinking wine and beer. Wes is actually drinking Fosters - a present from one of the Kriewaldt cousins who thought he might be homesick for it. It is in a huge can - 750 ml and is brewed in USA. He has donated the rest of the cans to the family with whom we stayed!!!!

Off to Tahquamenon State Park tomorrow and camping at the Hemlock Lower Falls for 3 days. Many things to see in this area. We are looking forward to visiting the National Shipwreck Museum located at Whitefish Point. No WiFi here so will post this tomorrow. Life is ...

... the cooler...and, in spite of our eating our own food, the amount in the cooler does not seem to be decreasing....hmmmm There are a lot of places along these hiways where there are vast numbers of 'construction ahead' signs for miles and miles and no actual construction happening or when there is, it's not a long stretch of workzone are..so we figure some states can't afford storage for all the signs so they just leave them on the hiway. The other day we saw a sign that ...

... sitting there for almost a year, under a tarp. Our neighbour might not have noticed had the gate been closed. So now there needs to be a police report filed from both the neighbour and my brother in law who lives in Vancouver. Gawd.....added note...my brother in law apparently does not have insurance.... By the way, I only share this blog with specific people so please don't forward without asking....I would hate to think we have inadvertently let people know we are away ...
