We are in bed, leaving at 2:30 AM!! Flying from Fort Myers to Newark, then on to Duesseldorf on Lufthansa. Packing was a nightmare given that the weather will be all over the place. ... kinds of things. Joao, the hotel manager and Katie, his assistant are two extremely efficient and pleasant people. We get to tease Joao on a regular basis and we love Katie’s smoothies in the morning. Dr. Tom, who happily takes care of us, even though he is retiring at the end of this trip. He is the consummate professional, and he pours a mean Kahlua. Dick, the man who has forgotten more about birds than the collective group of birders ...

... to enjoy the rest of the day on land, maybe next trip J), as they come into the Channelside area with cannon’s and guns a blazing, the Pirates land, plunder and pillage their way to the Mayor, steal the key to the city (and then hop on floats for the parade haha!)
