We had a one night stop over in Moody. We passed Talladega raceway on the way there but as it was a longer drive we didn't stop off along the way. We also got held up in our first traffic jam. A truck had gone off the interstate and crashed. Delayed us by about 40 minutes. The Super 8 wasn't the worst or the best motel but we both slept well after dinner at Cracker Barrell.
I've arrived in Birmingham! After the long flight (which was luckily slept away) I am now in the US of A. Three weeks here has already given me a huge insight into the American culture, especially that particular to Birmingham, Alabama. The biggest shock would have to be the vast amount of churches, found on almost every corner that overpower the streetscape. ... Manager who insisted that we leave the bikes at the front door, for security. He invited us to an open bar and nibbles from 5-7 and then also gave us vouchers for dinner at the Seafood restaurant across the road with free entrée or dessert each.
Yes, with that many temptations we did partake and enjoyed the evening although all of us were shattered.
