Who made a surprise appearance on the stage during Canada Day? Justin Trudeau. Who is Justin Trudeau you may ask. He is the son of the late Prime Minister of Canada - Pierre Trudeau. He is currently a Politician and Leader of the Liberal Party. I made sure I got a picture with him just for the fun of it.
Next stop was the town hall where we learned the origin of the town's name. Mr. Gleason at the Chamber of Commerce informed us that the town of Massena was named after Andre Massena, one of Napoleon's field marshals who lived from 1756-1817. While no one seemed to know the connection between Andre Massena and the town the name has stuck since 1802.
