After enjoying a few days in Chicago (more detail to follow about our stay in Chicago) we are off to pick up our van and start the Route 66 part of our trip. We have seen the signposted start point but then also went on a bus tour and the guide pointed out a different start point - so who knows! Anyway, here we are and here we go! Well folks, I am off to India and I could not be more excited! I will be serving on a 15 day trip through Hope Worldwide in New Delhi, India. I will be located at a rehabilitation clinic for individuals with leprosy and at a school/orphanage in one of the largest slums of Asia. I look forward to new friendships, new memories, and of course ...

We then realised this would be the last glimpse of the Missip that we'd been following for over a week. Now it's onto huge lakes as we go towards Chicago .

Today we caught up with an old friend I'd volunteered with in Melbourne 4 years ago. Gee it was neat to see her again.

We chatted a couple of hrs or so, then off towards the Windy City ...

... we stopped at Macca's for coffee and WiFi, to find a hotel for the night. Our limit is roughly $70, $60 is better as that's an even 20 each. We could go cheaper but no-one really wants to after Lincoln.

We find a La Quinta at an outer suburb of St Louis and book online, then head out there. I have mailed work asking for a copy of my license and am hopeful that tomorrow we can get me on as a driver.
