      ... an eagle & a snowy owl later, we finished off the day along with a quick look in the shop before climbing back on the bus.

      We were wet thru to the bone from the knees & elbows down but you still couldn’t wipe the smile from my face. We certainly earned our cocktails, something warming needed like rum me thinks.

      ... to the buffet. We chatted with a lovely couple from Florida .... Bob loves cars, so that suited Kevin. Carol's nephew actually was president of the Mustang club in USA a few years ago and she had owned a limited edition Mustang so we had lots to talk about. Monday at 6am we arrived in Ketchikan.       ... with tourism right behind, not much to recommend, so I'm happy we spent the $ to do the float plane. The bus driver who took us to the glacier yesterday told us that lots of the shops that line the piers where the cruise ships dock are owned by..............the cruise ship companies! That's nuts! It is a matrilinear society and so our guide and his wife live with her mother and it is her mother who is teaching him all about the Tlinglit.
