... our senior discount. Sampling one of the Wisconsin varieties on grilled cheese sandwiches was a delicious experience...it's going to be hard to go back to Kraft!

Speaking of going back, we figure that with a long driving
day tomorrow, we might make it home. We will send one last posting to let
everyone know where we are there safe and sound.

    One last
    cheers from the road,

... to the Calhoun family... a gorgeous 10 year old girl called Jessica. Jessica is Debby's great neice who has come to live with my dad and Debby 8 months ago from Michigan. Jessica and I had talked on the phone a few times and chatted but this is the first time I got to meet her. I was a little apprehensive about this visit. ... amazing valley on mountains. You can really see why they call the Kentucky Appalachians the smoky mountains. The fog and clouds draped over the mountain tops of green masses of trees. The town of Pikeville was sunken into a narrow valley in the secluded mountains. Great location, just not for cyclists with thousands of coal trucks passing through daily. What to do? Finally, much to our dismay, we were forced to rent a Uhaul and drive into Virginia. Live to ride another day! ...

This is our first blog entry. This summer we'll be doing a lot of traveling and wanted everyone to be able to keep up with us! We want to make it from Orlando to Boston this year traveling a total of over 8,000 miles. That's more than the diameter of the earth! Who knows what surprises we'll find along the way!
