Comfortable bed. Quiet. Breakfast was pretty bleak. Happy to get a room at the late hour that we stopped. The parking lot was full.

Greta woke us around 8 am on her way out to meet the crew she would be supervising for rock picking. ... any signs we wondered if that was where Corningware was made. That night we stayed at a delightful resort called Kinisee Lake in Jefferson Ohio. Our back window overlooked the lake and we had most of the resort to ourselves despite it being the Columbus Day holiday weekend.
Many of the cities all along the route for the past couple of days have very interesting names. We have seen Mexico, Jamaica, Geneva, Cuba, Dover, ...
... one cook and it took longer than normal to get our dinner. But they were apologetic and kind about the whole thing, so we just took it as a sign that we were supposed to have more time to hang out together and talk.
Saying goodbye after dinner was emotional...I'm not sure when I'll see my uncle again (thank god for technology and Skype though) and I won't see my mom again until late October or early November. But the show moves on...
... west into Ohio and Indiana, where we are now. We're in Shipshewana, an ironic Indian name given the fact that it had been only ten years before the Amish moved in fleeing persecution in the east, that the Indians moved west, chased from their country.
We drove from Chicago yesterday, along really busy highways, so by the time we got to the hotel in Elkhart, we were pooped.
Plus there was a time change putting the clock forward an hour, so we were way past our lunch time too!
So once at the hotel, we found a place that served grilled sandwiches. the first I've had in ages. They're nearly always bread rolls ala Subway style!.
We'd seen the brochures for Amish ...
