... be hitting North Carolina in a couple days and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park shortly after, so we have bigger mountains in our future, and probably colder temperatures. I'm about ready for summer already, but it'll be at least a couple weeks before it starts warming up.

Day 7: 13 miles, Cheese factory site campsite to ***** Creek Gap
Day 8: 4.5 miles (nero), ***** Creek Gap to Plumorchard Gap Shelter
... We all baked frozen pizzas, had amazing, glorious showers (even though the water pressure was terrible) and passed out. That was the longest day for me on the trail yet at 13 miles.
