Our weekend at Beth and Darrin's - both profs at University of Delaware - was filled with outside activities. It is beautifully green everywhere! We took a walk along the creek (crossing PA, Delaware, and Maryland on the way), went cherry picking (Maryland), had a picnic and kickball game at a nearby park, and of course, the kids were in the backyard rest of the time. Our plan today was to go wine tasting in Northern Maryland. Lisa and I went online and found a few vineyards with wine tasting rooms and set off. Unfortunately All the vineyards are closed on Tuesdays. So we had to come up with a plan B. We ended up at "The Hollywood Casino." As you can imagine it was a classy place......not. They had no table games so we mostly played Video Black Jack. It was a little weird to ...

... I want to rediscover my tan and the soothing power of the ocean. I want to take time each day to go for a run and get back in shape. I want to slide down a zipline, check out a volcano and see a variety of monkeys. I do not want to give the impression that I am viewing this internship as a vacation. However, I hope that I will be able to fully engage in my student teaching experience while also immersing myself in the nature, culture, and language of this ...
