At a little place called Cave in Rock, there was a ferry across the Ohio River. As you might guess, we took the ferry and found ourselves back in Kentucky where we followed the River Road.

Arrived early and got our pick of sites. We got this one right on the lake. At dusk, the family of skunks would come out to enjoy the fallen crab apples on the tree in our site. The sunsets were gorgeous! We met Puff the Purple Dragon on the beach! Loved the water tower.

We spent the last few days traversing the Ozarks of Missouri. They are a mound of deeply eroded limestone resulting in lots if hills of 100-600 feet elevation gain and descent, narrow roads and moderate traffic. The drivers as a group were not very patient.The result was that that the effort to ride safely left less energy to appreciate the land, communities and individuals there.
