... Indian young people brought here to Carlisle. I look at the tombs, sure enough, you see names like "Abe Lincoln son of Antelope Cheyenne" a vivid image of how white culture was imposed on these students. But my question is: why a cemetery at a school? It seems very odd that so many young people should die--while in school! Later I ask a lady at the historical society about this. "Could you play happy birthday for my sister's party"

Certainly can't turn down a request like that. I approached the picnic ...

Alright, so this post is essentially pointless. I am currently watching the Orioles beat the Yankees in my house. But the only way to see if this blog works is to try it, so here I am. Anyways, I have about 3 weeks 'til I depart for China. I'll be landing in Shanghai on August 25th, where I will be until Sept. 1st. After that, I get shipped out to Hechuan, Chongqing. That's where I'll be until July of 2013, one year closer to leaving my parents' ...

... if I was going to break out a rendition of god bless America or something duct tape appropriate. The whole day was so educational and so moving I could never do it justice two finger typin g on a cell phone! We saw a cyclorama painting of the battle that threw you into it. This thing is huge.
