    ... however, as the roads consisted of mountain twisties and sweepers separated by traverses across intervening valley floors. (Other western states could certainly learn from Montana's speed limit - 70 mph even on secondary and tertiary roads - roads other states would downgrade to 55 mph.)

    We are 47 miles south of Missoula at the house of a niece of Lu's. it is less than a mile to the Bitterroot River, and about 4037 population. We got here about 8:30pm after spending some time at the Bison Refuge. That area was pretty interesting, and we saw the Plains Bison, antelope, mule ear deer and a couple of birds in a 4 different zones. One can just imagine 150 years ago with hundreds of Bison ...

    Today was a great day finally cresting Lolo Pass and entering Montana. That was something I didn't think was going to happen several times during this trip. I finally got to visit the Adventure Cycling Association Headquarters, long a dream of mine. I was chosen or I should say Betty was chosen to have a classic black and white photo taken for the office walls, and maybe the official magazine. Everyone gets a polaroid picture taken ...
