Today we left Yellowstone behind and enjoyed a trip through mountains and valleys to the Triple Creek Lodge in Darby Mt. We visited the Roosevelt Arch at the North Entrance to Yellowstone, followed the Yellowstone, Gallatin, and Bitterroot rivers as we made our way to the Bitterroot Mountains in Mt. We enjoyed excellent food and drink at the Lodge and Sally found her first TV in 6 days Tomorrow we float the Bitterroot River fly fishing and then pan for ...

We haven't traveled long before the valley narrows into a canyon carved by the Little Salmon ...

... however, as the roads consisted of mountain twisties and sweepers separated by traverses across intervening valley floors. (Other western states could certainly learn from Montana's speed limit - 70 mph even on secondary and tertiary roads - roads other states would downgrade to 55 mph.)

Absolutely beautiful resort. So serene and peaceful. Going to the owners house tonight for cocktails. Can't wait to see what their place looks like. We has a bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting for us as we'll as a stocked var, fresh cookies and trail mix. ...
