I'm sitting in the Charlotte airport on my 8 hour layover, drinking a cold beer and reflecting on the last 10 years. This trip is far and beyond anything I've ever done before, and it is really exciting. Especially since I still don't have half of it planned yet!

Pulled in around 2:30. Glad not to have another extended trip time anytime soon. We had a wonderful trip. Great friends to travel with, would definitely get the Special Ed Posse together again anytime, just not back to Alaska! Statistics are a bit sketchy, but by my feeble calculations, we did the following:
Air Miles 5008
Rail Miles 283
Bus Miles 543
Car Miles 1700
Ship Miles 1240

... Don joined Claudia and myself for my NASCAR Experience that Claudia gave for my birthday the month before. What an experience! Me alone in the #24 with top speed of 143 mph. The pictures tell the story. Thanks Don for some great photos! We met Don and Trish for great brunch along side Lake Norman. While on the road we decided that we weren't quite ready to go home ...
