... would be the term I would use. On June 9th we arrived in Walker, Minnesota. It is lush and beautiful here. We spent the afternoon relaxing in the pool and planning out our next couple of weeks. We are headed to Itasca State Park today for some exploring. There are miles and miles of paved bike trails in this area, so I know we will be busy on the ...

... tomorrow!

We hit the road again, and were able to up our pace a smidgeon. Must have been the magic donut holes! We passed a house sitting just up from a small lake (pond) and had to stop and take a picture. About 6 miles from Fergus Falls we stopped under the I-94 overpass to get out of the wind and rest a while. Our average was up to 10.2 mph! (We hate headwinds!) Turns out we shouldn't have taken that rest break.

We were able to stop on the way out of town at a convenience store to fill our water bottles with ice and water; cold water ...

... had many good times on the Thief River and the parks in town. I even remember the store we use to go to buy candy. Unfortunately, my aunts and uncles have passed away with the exception of my Aunt Virginia (age 86) and Uncle Art (age 93). The most recent loss was of my aunt Norma who passed away just one month ago.

Since we were in Minnesota, Sheila and I wanted to be sure we made it up to TRF. The sign at the city limits stated ...

Detroit Lakes, MN

Traveled to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. We are staying overnight at Forest Hills RV Resort. The resort is located on a nice golf course. Unfortunately, the golf course is maintained with Toro and Jack equipment.

On our way to Detroit Lakes, we explored some of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. We seen a lot of water fowl but that was really the extent of wildlife we encountered.

Chilled out the rest of the day.

Happy Trails,
Chuck and Sheila Noel ...
