... time we go through this area we watch for the changes in the water levels. Whenever there are floods in the Red River, in Winnipeg, it seems to back up to Devil's Lake. There are still a couple of farms that are half submerged in the lake from the last big flood. The last time we were through here we noticed that many if the roads had been modified and now sat on top of berms to protect them from the erratic water levels. The train tracks are also now on berms that seem to be ...
... never quite caught up with it. But we kept on chasing it west. An interesting thing about the county roads in Wisconsin. They are not numerical. They are alpha, like Route U and Route XX. I think I noted this two years ago when we passed this way. And I found it rather amusing.

Other than looking like a place where you want to stay indoors and keep your doors locked, it provided the only RV refuge within 50 miles in the middle of nowhere. The people here were rough looking but only hand working folks or people passing thru, like us.
Sunday, We got to our destination of Downstream Campground located in Fort Peck, MT.
This entry is only to keep my map current. We came across the eastern part of North Dakota, past Fargo and into Minnesota where we stayed at a great city park for the night. All grass and, with ************e there, peaceful.
I went for a run in the morning and then we headed across Minnesota towards Duluth...past ALL those lakes in Minnesota! So many of them.
