It's our last day at the lake, and so begins our list of lasts. Tom, Leah & I went out fishing off Star Island this morning. We used up our last minnows, and caught our last fish (6 perch). We didn't fish long as we wanted to say good-bye to Grandpa & Grandma and help them get their boat out of the lake.

... The two of us only caught 4 perch by the time all was said and done, but we always enjoy those "just the two of us" moments.
In the afternoon, Tom & Jared went for bike rides. Jared rode around Pike Bay and Cass Lake, and Tom met him part way home. The girls and I went over to Mom's cabin and played some Shanghai. We then had Mom & Dad over for dinner, before finishing our card game and then going for a late ice cream cone at our lodge. ...
... lost them. Within minutes, I had a very nice tug, and could tell this catch was not a pan fish. Tom got the net and landed my first (and probably last) walleye of the year. It was a nice-sized one too (17 inches), and a great way to end our morning.
The weather was beautiful for another afternoon of kayaking (Linda & Deb), biking (Tom), golfing (Mom & Dad), and lazing around the resort (the kids). By early evening, Tom, ...

When we arrived in Walker, Tom loaded the bikes up on the car and we met up with the girls. After a little shopping (we HAD to pick up our Highlander Grogg coffee beans!), we all met at Zona Rosa's Mexican restaurant for supper. Now we're just hanging back at the resort, catching up on travel blogs, reading, and chatting with cousins.
... it wasn't a total bust. And mom was happy with the nice crappie she snagged.
It was a beautiful day for kayaks, so Deb and I took them out for a leisurely ride . It was so nice to get all caught up on each other's lives. We never seem to have trouble finding things to talk about, and our friendship just picks right up where we last left off.
