      Kelso to Seattle via Ape Cave

      Drove 50 miles from Kelso to the Mt St Helens National Park to visit Ape Cave.

      After hiking the underground cave for 2 miles we then drove the 155 miles to Seattle in 4 hours.


      A two stop day so up early to slightly double back on ourselves so we could visit Ape Cave. The cave was discovered in the 50's by a farmer whose tractor fell into them. They originally thought it was a sink hole, however ...

      ... again and cough up $12 just to look down the side of a building.

      So Instead, I wandered down to the 40th floor where I had passed a starbucks on the way up. I went in, sat at a window with a great view, and relaxed for maybe 20 minutes along with a chat with an english bloke who was visiting the states.

      Then back to ye good ole airport to get my bag, go through security, and wait for my flight to depart at 8pm.

      ... and I went to Pike Street Public Market.

      Really interesting place, nice stuff to buy and loads of flowers. A little lane way opened up to a nice looking restaurant that wasn't open (darn) and a community garden with an interesting Pig sculpture. Yep a pig in a community garden.
