    ... Smith Tower, an Italianate white skyscraper with old-fashioned lifts (still operated by a mumbling attendant) and an attractive Chinese room.     ... we had to be out of our room by a certain time. We tipped our cabin steward from the previous room and left for work to do open house.

    ... the evening, Id say around 9 pm. We checked in with the passenger desk, and learned there was a flight to Travis Air Base on Wednesday. There was a civilian shuttle called Sea-Tac that flew to Hawaii, Guam, Korea, and Japan, 3 times a week, but it we missed the Sunday one, and had to wait till Wednesday for that as well.
