10,000 Lakes in MN and We Picked Detroit Lakes

We found Countrycampground after winding through downtown Detroit Lakes. Homes were built with a lake view and across the main road was the lake with docks for the homes. It was interesting how they were laid out. It looked like an ocean shore in SC - people laying out in the sun, building sand castles and swimming at 8:00 p.m. Jim found a rocking place for dinner called Zorbaz! It reminded me of restaurants in Key West - open doors, sides, windows, with bar or ...

... whom many were massacred at Wounded Knee - men, women and children. Kathy told us what happened and showed us information about the sit. She showed us where it all happened. It was all around us. A tragic day. She also told us anecdotal stories from her family. She was a real character and had had an interesting life. Her niece arrived to tell her that she had just had word that she had passed her nursing.

She told us that the tribe did not want a ...

Rodney soon figured out our riding plan – go as fast as we can without Ann having to work very hard. Which meant an average of about 13 mph. In the morning we did okay. We took a few pictures as we rode, and there were windbreaks of big trees to break up the fields. The road continued very flat ...

Detroit Lakes, MN

A travel blog entry by noeljrblog on May 25, 2015

Traveled to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. We are staying overnight at Forest Hills RV Resort. The resort is located on a nice golf course. Unfortunately, the golf course is maintained with Toro and Jack equipment.

On our way to Detroit Lakes, we explored some of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. We seen a lot of water fowl but that was really the extent of wildlife we encountered.

Chilled out the rest of the day.

Happy Trails,

Day 3

... make sence she miss this adventure. I'm sure she didn't want to butt in. Well, I have bad news about the motorcycle. I put the speedo cable on, even though I wasn't going to, and it did not fix the problem. Now I need a speedo drive. Can't get one until next week. This might be a deal breaker for Chad and my trip. We ended the day playing cards, Phase 10. This is Brandon's game he taught ...
