    ... vendor at the market or cleaning rooms at the hotel. The volcanoes themselves exude resilience, symbolizing strength, power, and mystery and making me realize what a speck we are on this earth. They have been here way before us, and will remain long after we are gone.

    And so, as on all OAT trips, it was a journey of learning and discovery, about Central America and about ourselves.

    After the first few days on the mountain of blue skies and warm sun, the clouds finally blew over. We had snow falling for 3 days straight, dropping the temperature and burying our tent. The snowboarding was incredible, but it has getting very cold at night: down to -23 degrees at one point.
    To keep ourselves warm we had been staying late at a local pub called 'Prost', then heating up water, pouring it into our water bottles then sticking them on our sleeping bags overnight. ...
