I started this journey from home at 10:15 am, being picked up by the Act II shuttle. After picking up another traveler, we headed for O'Hare airport, arriving about 2:30 pm. That trip and check-in were uneventful. Since my flight wasn't scheduled to leave until 6:20, I walked the concourses for a while, had a snack, then ...

We say goodbye to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and almost all of Illinois as we traveled west on I-80. Before leaving Indiana, we spent a couple of hours at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore - part of the National Park System. Today, over 15,000 acres have ...

We picked up a family pass that gives us entry into 290 other centers across the States so we are set for the rest of the trip. We watched an Imax movie called the Last Reef then picked up some groceries and had a nice homemade dinner on the Mississippi!
Got up this morning ready for our next leg of the journey. We should end up somewhere near ...

... and lightning storm of the decade. Four to five hours of a light show and rumblings. A lot of rain and only one small drippy spot (we will need to set it up and buy a little caulking and clear spray sealant and the drip will be no longer a worry). We woke up to a sunny day and were ready to pack up our wet trailer and head to the cottage on the Mississippi.

Would we recommend the Warren Dunes Park? We would recommend the dunes and beach, but the camping was not ideal because ...

Four Cities for the Price of One

... and Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa. All the cities are riverfront cities on the Mississippi River. We visited all four cities.

In Davenport we visited The Palmer College of Chiropractic. There was a museum set up on several floors of the main building that told the history of Chiropractic practice. It actually goes back thousands of years. Daniel David Palmer was the founder of Chiropractic and began teaching it in 1895. Over the first ...
