After about two hours in searing heat we get out of Chicago and we stop. I get off the bike and nearly fainted, I was suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. Two bottles of water and about 10 minutes later I was OK again.
Good to visit Chicago but not like that!
Another 100 miles and getting to the hotel, having a shower and then a couple of beers was very welcome indeed!!
Today, we are two days from home. We've traveled from Sioux Falls to Davenport. We had planned to stop at the Iowa State Fair but the weather was ****** so I researched things to do in Omaha and found the zoo. Now, normally we don't do zoos unless they are unique. This one seemed unique and didn't disappoint. They have a Desert Dome indoor with a desert exhibit and a nocturnal animals cave and swamp exhibit below the desert. ...

He had biked these parts quite a bit and gave me some suggestions. When I pulled out my map, he jumped up on the picnic table and walked on top of it to my side.
