      After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead.       ... also heard about Hurricane Katrina and how Thomas had to float on a mattress tied to the live oak tree out back of the house to stay alive while their home collapsed in the storm. Pretty incredible, the force of nature and the resiliency of people!
