After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny! Today, we transitioned to the Destin West RV Resort in Fort Walton Beach. It was really hard to leave the Ho Hum RV Park, but this campground is near the water, and is very nice. The sites are paved with brick pavers and are really deep. Our site is set up that we are head in so we are able to look out and see the water and not the front of another rig.

... get it when we visit our daughter in Hawaii." Thanks for sharing Joe! They ended up making us delicious pancakes and some sausage and had great conversation. After they rode us out to the hwy on their tandum bike. Tricia called it the conseling bike. When they were having a rough patch in their marriage they bought it so they would have to talk to each other. That's figuring love out if you ask me.

... that we retired to our beds for a mid-afternoon siesta. We woke up to the idea of fresh oyster happy hour where we met the world's greatest oyster shucker, Thomas. He was a 50ish y.o. man with a great sense of humor. He gave Powerstroke a little shuga shuga and she gave it right back! Thomas jokingly patronized Powerstroke and asked if the oyster was too big for her, she came back with, "Oh no! I like the big meaty ones in my mouth!" He was taken aback, then blushed and then laughed ...
... in time change. I was so thankful that the time change happened on the drive home though and not on the way to Destin as I had originally thought. We also hit a lot of rain to the point where I could hardly see where I was going. It was bad. I was glad to make it home safe and sound after white knuckling the steering wheel for hours.
