... what better way to start a trip than The Duke.

We continued on west through Iowa, which is just as exciting as you imagined. On our way, we went by the Freedom Rock, which I had heard about but never seen. It is a giant boulder painted to commemorate veterans and fallen soldiers. Gorgeous monument.

You'll find find the basic items you need to get by but if that doesn't work then Creston is about a twenty minute drive and you'll find a Wal-Mart, Dollar General, and a variety of other shops that should suit your needs.

If you want a nice sit down restaurant you can come into town and check out Fireside Bar and ...

Woke up to Iowa. It is starting to snow here a little this morning. This is mega-farm country. I have never been to Iowa before. The farms are enormous. We had a two hour delay due to track work this morning. I will have about a five hour layover in Chicago, so it shouldn’t affect my connection to the LakeShore Limited that will take me back to NY. I noticed two hunters this morning in a wooded area alongside the tracks. I figured, let me see if ...
