... curtains will fade with the extra sun light" springs to mind. Anyway, the hours, wine and chats roll for hours and before we know it's 2am! We need to get to bed as we need to be up at 6.30am for the 4th of July celebrations to begin! 6.30am rolls on too quickly from our slumber and we hit the local farmer markets in downtown Des Moines in search of coffee and breakfast. These farmer markets are brilliant! Much bigger than our local one in Perth. Ryan and Kiley bring along their ...

This small town of about 300 people is as rural as they come. Diagonal offers visitors one of the most beautiful lakes of the area, Fogle Lake. 3D archery is one of the highlights with a full schedule each year where all people can join in this event. They offer modern and primitive camping, a playground, and boating. The highlight of this lake would have to be the archery and fishing. The lake is well stocked and great fun to get the poles ...

Woke up to Iowa. It is starting to snow here a little this morning. This is mega-farm country. I have never been to Iowa before. The farms are enormous. We had a two hour delay due to track work this morning. I will have about a five hour layover in Chicago, so it shouldn’t affect my connection to the LakeShore Limited that will take me back to NY. I noticed two hunters this morning in a wooded area alongside the tracks. I figured, let me see if ...
