Today we rode off into the rolling hills of Missouri and encountered our first road grade greater than 10%. We expect to see a lot more of this in the coming days. Once again the weather gods smiled on us, the wind was minimal, there was no rain and a bit of cloud cover did not spoil our day. We enjoyed the rural ride through small, well kept farms and had a dinner repast at a local truck stop adjoining our hotel....ah the luxuries of the itinerant ...

... see it as we continued through town and also in the next town. What we saw just took my breath away. Buildings missing, trees broken in half, but then other buildings nearby not touched. Also a car that has obviously been tossed around. Takes you breath away. We tried to find one of the Route66 landmarks - a carved brick wall mural, but there was no building there anymore.
