Left St Louis crossed the Mississippi River not much corn growing here more beans. Wee are using a Garment GPS to get directions on where Route 66 is. The GPS is always trying to send us back onto the highway. Some times we come to. An intersection the Route 66 sign points left the GPS says go right, very easy to get lost. Today we rode off into the rolling hills of Missouri and encountered our first road grade greater than 10%. We expect to see a lot more of this in the coming days. Once again the weather gods smiled on us, the wind was minimal, there was no rain and a bit of cloud cover did not spoil our day. We enjoyed the rural ride through small, well kept farms and had a dinner repast at a local truck stop adjoining our hotel....ah the luxuries of the itinerant ...

... looking into taking me down there to visit. The company is arranging a day in November when the students will travel to Rome for a day or two to do some sightseeing. This is incredibly exciting.
