Today we rode off into the rolling hills of Missouri and encountered our first road grade greater than 10%. We expect to see a lot more of this in the coming days. Once again the weather gods smiled on us, the wind was minimal, there was no rain and a bit of cloud cover did not spoil our day. We enjoyed the rural ride through small, well kept farms and had a dinner repast at a local truck stop adjoining our hotel....ah the luxuries of the itinerant ...

... looking into taking me down there to visit. The company is arranging a day in November when the students will travel to Rome for a day or two to do some sightseeing. This is incredibly exciting. I've been dreaming of making my wish at the Trevi Fountain since I was seven years old. I leave in 73 days and I'm incredibly nervous. I'm equally excited as I am nervous, though.

... it the best marked section of road with lots of on-road signs indicating the direction to go. We first came to Galena and the House of Ill Repute - an old brothel. Across from this was a restored gas station with replicas of two of the characters from the Movie "Cars" next to it. Travel day



We left Sue & Al’s at 10:00 AM and headed north on US71 to Fort Smith AR, and then I-540 and US 71 to the MO state line. It was a beautiful ride through the “Ouachita” and “Boston” mountains, many of the hardwood trees were still budding or the leaves were still in the infant stage, with many shades of green.
