      This accomdations exceeded my expectations. The hotel had been recently remodeled and was very clean. It was a great nights sleep for a nice inexpensive value.

      ... Pit Mine. Went there and saw mine from observation deck. Anaconda Company had underground mines in area for years and then started the open pit mine in 1955. It operated until 1982. In 1983 they shut down the underground mine pumps and bottom is filled with 41 billion gallons of water. Pit measures 7,000 by 5,600 feet. Very impressive.

      Also, we went into an old bank which had the largest vault you could ever imagine. The door alone the told us weighed over 2000 tons, and it took about 30 horses to pull it up the road to the bank!

      We spent the day driving (for what seemed like forever)! We tried to stop and see Snoqualmie Falls outside of Seattle, but there was an accident so everything was backed up. After a good lunch at a local place called "Yummies", we hit the open road. We drove into Butte around 10:30 MT. Checked into our barely 2 star hotel and ordered pizza for dinner.
