Drove to Story City, Iowa today. The weather was not good today, in fact we drove through pour down rain for about 1 1/2 hrs as we passed through Kansas City and northward. The campground was wet from all the rain and not as pretty as it was the last time we stayed here 4 years ago. Smokey hasn't been sleeping well and has been crying during the night. I guess it is too much going on for him. Needless to say, we haven't been sleeping too ...

The Subaru's getting a consistent 24 mph, which is better than ...

Bob and I are preparing for our two month adventure in Spain. We are attempting to hike 10k every morning and have now added another 10k in the afternoon. Along with the hikes, we have added our backpacks. The question now we are asking each other often, "Why are we doing this?" It seems silly to work this hard in retirement. The Camino is referred to as 'The road of Reflection', so maybe we will figure this ...

... Platte River. Miles and miles, fueled by nothing but podcasts and corn nuts. We stopped at Gothenburg where we went to see an old Pony Express Station which was still in one piece. While it was not in its original location, it was close enough and was the original building. The old wooden structure housed a friendly interpreter and the most amazing artifact: a Pony Express saddle. The system lasted only a little over a year. Wiry men rode hard for miles ...
