      We got a late start out of El Centro Ca. The tempature at 9:30 AM was at or over 90 degrees. We made our way by car to Brawley. The roads were very narrow with soft sand shoulders. I have a few photos that show how narrow the roads were particulary when the farm truck carring produce would pass by. In Brawley I tried biking for several miles and the road turned narrow with bad shoulders. The adventure cycling maps I use warned about the narrow roads and the increased truck traffic on ...

      ... s Cousin Elly, and we had a delightful time with them. Iileen took me to lots of great places to shop and Nick and Steve went to the firehouse where he works and checked out their facility.

      Day 222 -(12/7) Our last day in Quartzsite. We had breakfast out with Iileen and Steve and then did a bit more exploring with them. It was cold today for their standards and what made it worse was the wind.

      ... nice view, it allowed the ladies to keep cooler - by not having to wear a bathing suit in the heat! How was I to argue with old man wisdom.....I couldn't. So that leaves us an hour and a half out, from tomorrows destination to meet up with some family friends, that I was too young to remember when they met me the first time.
