... to recall the events of that day. The cockroach museum lightened things up for us- it was a quick, but memorable stop( wink, wink!). Our drive to Austin was full of exclamations-"Blue Bonnets!! Blue Bonnets on the right!!" The roadside was so colorful. Later, what was supposed to be Dallas's news radio had an hour long "Market Report," that was sponsored by some group that was pushing gold. Actually, "sponsored" is the wrong word since all of the content in the market report was created by the gold sellers. Basically, it was a gold infomercial. At rush hour. On news radio. Oh, and during an intense thunder and rain storm that made ...

      Everything IS bigger in Texas

... us’. I looked up to see an enormous tray being carried towards our table and it was indeed for us. The tray got put down and each of the dishes moved on to our table. The waiter said ‘welcome to Texas’ when he saw the looks on our faces and he left with a smile. I had heard that everything in Dallas is bigger and better than anywhere else in America but this was crazy. We had received a meal that could have fed a small country ...
