Leaving Hocking Hills to travel to Touchstone Center for Crafts, I had 150 or so miles to travel. Well...I put on 275 miles on an excursion to see some covered bridges. It was a crazy trip. Most of the road was in great shape, but top speed for the day after I left Athens, was 25mph. This was a goat trail ...

Hocking Hills is near Logan, Ohio. The trip from Peoria to this area was flat and straight across the state. Arriving on the edge of Wayne National Forest I stopped at a Visitors center and picked up a map of the are. This is an amazing area with a wonderful story. The trail between Ash Cave and Old Man's cave is called the Grandma Gatewood Trail. She was quite the gal.

This was my second visit to Donelle's apartment in Athens and the main thing that had changed was the scenery. The first trip was at the end of summer and the landscape was quite lush, however this time it was the end of winter so all the trees in the forests surrounding the town were bare, which made the landscape quite bleak and grey. There had been light snow in the last few days so ...

... for a day time look at Pittsburgh and the confluence of the 3 rivers - Monongahela, Allegheny and Ohio. Couple of photos and off on our way. The fog had lifted and the high clouds did not hold any rain. Temperature was pleasant if not in the wind.

Out on highway 79 then onto 70 to the West Virginian border before Wheeling. We stopped at the Welcome Centre as I had seen something on my map about a burial mound. The man at the centre was very helpful ...
