After Davis' capture, he was imprisoned for 2 years without trial. While he was imprisoned, his citizenship was revoked for 111 years, until in 1978 when President Jimmy Carter re-instated it.

Davis retired to Biloxi, Mississippi where he wrote him memoirs. He died on December 6, 1889 in New Orleans. He was interred at the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA.

... when we got to the top of the first climb!!! We made the very wise choice of buying a platinum flash pass, which meant we could reserve our ride times and skip the queue, and also stay on the coasters for two consecutive rides- definitely worth it!!! ... couples here from STR. I didn't have the camera out this morning to take a picture of the fairgrounds, but I will tomorrow. Can you imagine 2,000 or more motorhomes of various sizes being in the same vicinity? Well that's how many are in attendance. And even with the rain and soggy field, most everyone was in a good mood. ... rally tomorrow morning about 8 am and would give them a call and we could get together then.

Back in "G/G" we started making our plans for this week and the seminars we wanted to attend. Since the rain was so bad, we decided not to travel to Andersonville today. After looking at the schedule for the rally, we decided we could visit there on Thursday afternoon.
