We found a motel that had smoking rooms. We stopped in two different places, that had no smoking!

First of all, I forgot to show a picture of our full tent, which we had set up the 2 nights in Independence. Robert enjoyed the KOA as we had internet access and he could check the headlines and the obituaries from our local paper! (We also have Serius radio so that we can listen to the CBC to stay informed on the election and other news.)

After the morning spent at the Museum and grounds and a picnic in the Eisenhower park, we got back on the yellow brick road.

... RV (after going by Freddy’s for French fries!). The burgers were ok but I have had better (that’s my critique)! Salina seems to be moving forward on the edge of town as it has quite a lot of fast food establishments as well as the usual strip mall stores we all know. The downtown is quaint as most we’ve seen in our travels.

A few hours after lunch we finally started to see the Rocky Mountains off in the distance and the prairies gave way to more rugged land. We arrived in Denver around 5:15, by far the earliest we’d succeeded in stopping for the night.
