The goal of visiting Omaha was going to the supposed best zoo in the world. We arrived there at 10:30am and left at 4:15pm, shortly before they closed at 5pm. It's great having the GPS to navigate us around, and we had no issues getting there or back to the hotel. At Walmart we picked up a few other things - a Minion shirt Sam liked, some fresh strawberries and a few goodies for the road. While in Iowa, why not visit the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library we said to ourselves and we're glad we did. This is my fifth presidential library and I always enjoy learning about these men. President Hoover lead a pretty impressive life before he entered politics. ... of the best sites of the trip so far. It was a series of 1.25% larger than life bronze sculptures of a pioneer wagon train. It was so realistic Peg had to go up and feel the harness on the horses to make sure it was bronze not leather. The detail and variety of figures from oxen to mules to the wagons and the people was just astounding. Seeing these figures juxtaposed against the modern city buildings was surrealistic. .
