... the state tree of North Dakota is the telephone pole. What trees there are have been planted by the farmers to shelter their homes and fields from the continuous winds that blow year round, but especially in the winter. Every town has its own grain elevator, so as you drive across the state, you will see grain elevators pop up out of nowhere in the fields. When you see one, you know you are in a town or burg. This entry is made shortly after the one for yesterday. My connection to the 4g network last night was not working well so I saved things for today thinking that in Minot there might be a place like where I am at. Thank goodness for the continual good advice of strangers, and today they were really strange (see pix). So the next time you drive through Minot stop by Broadway Bean and Bagel for a cup of joe.
