... once supported 40 hotels. People came by the trainload (up to 8 trains a day) from New York and Chicago to spend time at the waters. Our guide was their wedding consultant so the whole tour was presented around ‘the bride’, not something that captures my interest, but the place was full of antiques and quite elegant. Unfortunately the day was very wet so we didn’t get to explore the gardens. ...

It did rain again last night but it cleared up before we awoke. We went to breakfast and then to a grocery store for a few things we needed. The Walmart we parked at was a 24 hour store but it was dead! There was, however, a large grocery store about a block away was called Meijer that was packed! We decided to check it out. It was laid out just like a Walmart, had the same stuff as Walmart, prices seemed ...

We figured it wouldn't be a good photo-op for a circus clown to emerge from the backseat of the patrol car, so I was the lucky one who got to sit back there. We entertained at the local senior center and visited some stores before heading onto the next town.

I remembered the park where our show is being held as soon as we pulled in. We had ...

Old Bridges and Gravel Roads

We woke up to rain again this morning but struck out anyway to drive the covered bridge route. I didn't realize that there were so many unpaved roads in Ohio! It definitely was not a hot tour for others; we were the only ones at each bridge, not counting the occasional local that traveled it to get where they needed to go. I was intrigued with the design inside the wooden structures that made ...
