Did a 20 mile white water rafting trip of the lower main Salmon River.

Met with the rafting crew at 7.30 am for our drive up to the drop in spot.

Was a beautiful sunny day of about 85 degrees with a few clouds shading us from the hot sun. Initially there were 6 passengers in the large raft with one single seater inflatable ...

The first 100 miles was spent tracking cherry and huckleberry orchards as we drove alongside the vast Flat Head lake, with summer being so short here it was an amazing display of resilience by these beautiful fruits and we had to stop by one of the many roadside carts to pick up some fresh sweet cherries for the journey.

We said what the heck, we are committed and somewhat wet so why not go for it? We finished packing and hitching then mosied up the hill to the main hatchery area to say our goodbyes. We talked a while with Jim and Connie and then said goodbye to them. They are such pleasant people to be around and, as as bonus, offer a wealth ...

... lovely log home on 5 acres. She is a delightful young lady. We sat outside and enjoyed the view and the company. What a treat!

Back at the campground, we were thrilled to find BB and Norm had arrived, and sad to find out Dottie broke her foot and will have be to wear a boot brace for weeks.

After dark the group gathered around a huge fire pit for drinks and s'mores.
