    ... out in hollywood blvd it is like tourist central!! I did the whole loop on the tour and went back to hollywood blvd and headed for Sephora, really I just wanted a good recommendation for a spray tan, I did make a few purchases, some mascara, a new foundation brush and some hand cream cause lugging my backpack around is making my hands super dry!! The lady at the counter had no idea, she was more of a "I love myself the way I am" type, lots of tats ...

    ... is a first! My limp is back but the physio sitting next to me assured that the swelling will go down again. Arrived in LA at 9am. Coffee is terrible. Already struggling with the accents :/ And also abit freaked out about driving on the wrong side of the road. Atleast everything is in English ...

    ... billowing stainless steel walls reflecting light as the days light changes. The Civic Centre is an elegant Art Deco building that still stands out.

    We walked through the newer financial district to the old downtown part, which I stayed in the late 1970s. The area is even more grungy. It is sad to see the old Art Deco buildings and theatres in disrepair. Enjoyed browsing in "The Last Book shop" which provided some comfy seats.

    ... we made it to the top and were rewarded with a fantastic view of the whole city. The Hollywood sign however was better viewed from the road below. After a short break we began the descent as we pointed out various houses that we wouldn't mind living in! On the way down we bumped into a guy and his dog... Turns out the dog is a local celebrity for ways wearing sunglasses... My first celebrity Sonny the dog. ...

    ... the park is named for its view; if you make it up to the top end, looking away from the theatres behind looks over a gushing fountain to city hall with a green grass carpet in between. I needed lunch and could only see a Subway, but then spotted that the policeman eating in the square I was crossing had sushi.
