... hire car and headed to our hotel, Planet Hollywood. We were originally booked into Caesar's Palace but cancelled it because we were running out of money, so booked a cheaper hotel in the same location. We weren't disappointed with Planet Hollywood either, we had a massive bed with a luxurious big bathroom. It was so nice to have a bath again! We were also seeing Britney Spears while we were here and the show is in Planet Hollywood so it ...

Day 4 of the trip saw us take the monorail from the MGM grand down to the southern end of the strip stopping at the Stratosphere tower. The monorail provided some excellent views of the strip and stopped off at all the major hotels along the way saving you the trouble of having to walk the entirety of the strip. I knew that the stratosphere was going to be big but it was only when you get to the bottom and stare up that your realise the sheer scale ...

      ... Red Rock Canyon.

The 2 hour drive was pretty boring besides the air force base we passed by which had a drone sitting on the runway. We reached just the northernmost point of Las Vegas and headed west for Red Rock Canyon. The scenery was beautiful, and we decided to hike the most difficult trail first… big mistake (an online blog had said it was one of the best trails). This trail, Turtlehead Peak, was listed as strenuous for its incline and rocky path and was 5 ...
