We decided a boat ride would be a great way to see Lake George. Our boat was named Mohican, and gave us a great ride around the lake. The lake is 32 miles long as has lots of history. ... said than done on our busiest and most challenging of days. Here's another way of looking at how we report on young people: The Birthday Present test. If by the end of a report you can't think of 1 birthday present to buy for a young person then how much have I really told you about them? So today made me think about myself as a leader, but also more importantly as a communicator. I know when OfSTED, visitors, important people come to my school I deal in ...

... this was our work', 'this is my concept' 'i think that child x should have...', 'this is how we do it/have always done it'. Does that limit creativity? does that limit sharing? Does that stop people becoming empowered? The very best professionals surely empower others? If my school has 1 expert in Autism for example and they leave; what happens? If I've harnessed that correctly, the work will continue. If not the expertise walks out of the door with ...
