... car (some great steaks!) and met some nice people too. I didn't catch their names but one lady had travelled all over Europe and had lots of interesting stories. And the guy we sat with for dinner had lived in San Francisco most of his life, and was travelling to Detroit to see an opera! He was also a big train lover (I imagine he would have gotten on well with Nick!) We are now going to try and settle in for the night. Eye masks and ear plug time - wish us luck! ...

Realized on our way in that our dear friend Heaven Edwards, who had taken the train from SF to New York for the peoples climate march, was already couch surfing in the DC area, so she joined us for our DC explorations, or rather our stroll down memory lane. ... with the trashy Dairy Queen for birthday lunch! The lodge was off the beaten track in the middle of a forest with rustic log cabins and yurts and to stay in. We had a nice dinner and several wines in the restaurant that night before enjoying our sleep in the peaceful surrounds. The next morning we were up a little early for breakfast so they gave us a couple of coffees in takeaway cups and we wandered around the grounds. We spotted a couple of hammocks in the trees so Donelle thought ...

I have never really had an amazing 4th of July until this passed year! Jon, a friend of a friend was a stranger to me, we had never met before but I did not want to make the 3 hour drive alone. This stranger boy met me at my work and we drove up north together not knowing what to expect. I realized I loved that kid he was awesome! We talked the whole way up with no awkward moments whatsoever. We made it up to in Deep creek to a family friend ...
