... leaving DC, we visited the Fords Theatre, where John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln. It was strange seeing where it all happened, including where Lincoln died. It was time to say goodbye to Washington - albeit a quick visit, but we really enjoyed our time. We have eaten in ...

Realized on our way in that our dear friend Heaven Edwards, who had taken the train from SF to New York for the peoples climate march, was already couch surfing in the DC area, so she joined us for our DC explorations, or rather our stroll down memory lane. ... side! After a breakfast that included duck and venison we headed off for the day. We drove for just over an hour across a high plateau, before descending into the Ohiopyle State Park and Fallingwater. I didn't go there with any preconceptions but it was a very interesting tour and an amazing place. Ironically, rain started to fall as we finished and we drove to another nearby house he designed called Kentuck Knob. He did so sight unseen, on a smaller budget and late in his life ...

... rest of the blurred and slurred evening.

The next day nobody was feeling 100% we were supposed to climb but only me and Matt #2 were up for it. We all grabbed breakfast sandwiches at the sweetest coffee shop on the mountain. All of us except Jon who was severely struggling to move that day. Grace, #1 Matt and Adam headed back to the house and me and #2 Matt went to climb a little section in the woods. It was pathetic... we both ...
