... storms to the north were just passing through. I downloaded an app for my phone ($2.99) Weatherbug Elite that works great to identify the current weather in you area based on GPS location, any current watches or warnings, and also gives a very detailed weather radar map. Again, very helpful if you are trying to avoid bad weather during driving times.

... Lodge at the Grand Canyon; this cheered me up no end. They didn't even charge me for disc or postage - truly lovely.

We spent the afternoon on a river and lake cruise that was interesting, informative and freezing on any part of the body not covered. Shell and I did some shopping for breakfast and the first day or two on the road. For tea we wanted hot dogs, Chicago style and got them at American Dog, complete with potato chips (crisps) in a bag. ... a washer/dryer in the back I think we could live there permanently with no noticeable change in our quality of life. That said, packing still required making sure we had the pots/pans, silverware, dishes, camp chairs, groceries, games, bug spray, towels, sheets, and everything else you need to "survive in the wilderness."

So while trying to contain the chaos that is VBS I also was working with Tim to load the camper ...

Racine Art Museum

Since I was in town, I figured I'd also visit the Charles A. Wustum Museum. It's an older museum than the Racine Art Museum. Most of the gallery space there was also dedicated to temporary exhibits. All works on view were by local artists. There wasn't much of interest to me.

I then drove to Bridgeview, IL where I'll be staying while I'm in the Chicago area.
